P.T. Wright, Acting Deputy Director of US-VISIT, outlined U.S. plans to move from taking two digital fingerscans to 10 fingerscans from visitors to the United States. In a press event held in the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy to Brussels June 25, he briefed on the upcoming changes in U.S. airports and at embassy consular sections and answered questions about the use of biometrics in travel documents and a plan being considered in Congress to require online pre-registration for travelers. Wright also demonstrated how the new machines will work in embassy consular sections and when people arrive in the United States.
